This episode of the Wedding Planning Podcast has been archived, and is currently only available to members of The VAULT.
In the past month, I fielded a bunch of requests for affordable, DIY-style wedding invitation ideas. Today I’m sharing an easy, unique, and beautiful watercolor project to recreate this popular look!
We also talk in depth about seeded paper – what exactly is it, where to buy seeded paper in bulk, can you run it through a home printer, and more! I will candidly share that I had WAY TOO MUCH FUN researching and learning all about seeded paper for today’s episode!
“Do you know where we can get inexpensive seeded paper in bulk? We want to DIY our save the dates and invitations and wanted to go the environmentally friendly route with our wedding.
We thought of printing both our save the dates and invites on seeded paper so after people can plant them if they wish. We really love this idea but not sure of where the best place to get the materials or where to print these.
Do you know if you can use a home printer on this type of paper or does it need to be something more industrial? Thank you always for your advice!

In addition to some other online resources, I found seeded paper for sale on Etsy.com
Do a search for “seed paper” and you’ll get plenty of beautiful options to choose from!
My takeaway tip for today – whatever seed paper you choose, buy a small amount, and TEST IN YOUR PRINTER BEFORE BUYING A HUGE QUANTITY!
I have never personally fed seeded paper through my home printer, and would want to be absolutely sure that the ink didn’t bleed or come out in patches.
